Do you know the candidates who are running for election this fall? Did you even know that it’s an election year? The Madrona and Leschi community councils and the Mount Baker Community Club want to make sure residents are informed about who the candidates are and where they stand on important issues, and the three organizations are co-hosting a candidates forum to do just that.
The October 22 event will take place at the Mount Baker Community Club, and so far attending candidates include: Damon Shadid and Fred Bonner, running for Seattle Municipal Judge Position 7; Sharon Tomiko Santos and Daniel Bretzke, running for state representative; Pramila Jayapal and Louis Watanabe, running for state senate; and U.S. Congressman Adam Smith. The event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the candidates, followed by a discussion of gun initiatives, pre-kindergarten initiatives, and candidate positions from 7:00-9:00.
This will be a great opportunity to come face-to-face with your candidates in Seattle’s 37th legislative district and Washington’s 9th district in a small community setting, so put this on your calendar so you don’t miss out!
