The colorful and springy Madrona Mayfair poster is getting us extra excited for everyone’s favorite spring event, coming Saturday, May 10! This 38-year-old Madrona tradition attracts as many as 500 families from the Madrona/Central District area, and provides a great opportunity to celebrate our beautiful neighborhood.

Here is the agenda for the day:

  • 9:15 a.m. : Parade line-up at Al Larkins Park (34th & Pike)
  • 9:30 a.m. : Parade begins!
  • 10:00 a.m. : Charles the Clown Show @ The Shelterhouse
  • 10:30 a.m. : Reptile Man show @ The Shelterhouse
  • 12:00 p.m. : Recess Monkey Concert

Other activities for the day include, break dancing instruction, a yo-yo contest, pony rides, face painting, and a photo booth. Mayfair screen printing is also being offered, so bring a t-shirt or tote bag!

While Mayfair is free to attend, it costs the Madrona Community Council about $4,000 to produce, and it couldn’t be done without its neighborhood sponsors. This year’s sponsors include Ewing & Clark real estate, Harvard Avenue Preschool, Seattle Orthodontics, Molly Moon, Lakeview Kids’ Dentistry, Madrona Dining and Sipping Society, and Cambium Landscape.
