Students from Garfield High School’s advanced photography class have selected their best work to be displayed at the Central District location of Broadcast Coffee in October and November, and will be holding a show opening on Monday, October 13. The whole community is invited to attend the event, which will run from 4:00-7:00 p.m. If you can’t make it on the 13th, stop by for a coffee anytime during October or November to check out the exhibit! Broadcast Coffee is located at 1918 E Yesler Way.
Garfield Tesla Raffle Tickets have been on sale and they are nearing the limit of 1,850 tickets. Time is running out for your 1 (or more depending on your budget) in 1,850 chance to win a Tesla Model S Sedan which retails for $90,0000. The tickets are $100 but we like the odds to win the car. The drawing is March 14th and you need NOT be present to win. If you win and don’t want the car you can take a $50,000 cashier’s check instead.
The raffle has been getting a lot of press, for example, King 5 News did a report on it. So if you are interested then contact Garfield to buy a ticket. We will be looking for you driving around Madrona after you win!
Garfield’s Homecoming Football Game is this Friday, September 30th starting at 5 PM with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night. The game was originally scheduled to start Friday at 7 PM, but the time has been changed. The Bulldogs will be taking on Roosevelt Roughriders. If you have not been to a high school football recently, this is a great chance to root on Madrona’s closest public high school at Memorial Stadium.
