In just hours the streets of Madrona will be filled with little ghosts and goblins (and probably quite a few Princess Elsas), because it’s Halloween! Hopefully everyone has their costumes – and umbrellas – ready for trick-or-treating and the scavenger hunt at Madrona businesses tonight. Meet at the Shelterhouse at 5:00 p.m. for some sweet treats before the festivities begin!
Bottlehouse will also have a family-friendly “Boos & Brews” celebration from 5:00-7:00, so make a stop there with your little ones sometime tonight for more trick-or-treating and bobbing for apples. The festivities will continue after 7:00 for adults, with food, beer, and other beverages in the beer garden. Costumes encouraged!
If you have a student at St. Therese, the school’s Halloween Carnival is also taking place tonight from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Even if the weather doesn’t cooperate, it should be a fun night to see everyone all dressed up! Happy Halloween!
Halloween is only a little over a week away, and once again the Madrona Community Council and the Business Owners of Madrona are hosting Halloween festivities in the neighborhood. Meet at the Shelterhouse at 5:00 p.m. on the 31st for some sweet treats before the traditional scavenger hunt at local businesses begins. If you would like to help out by contributing 2-3 dozen baked goods for the kickoff at the Shelterhouse, contact Stacey Kryman at firstname.lastname@example.org. Get your kids’ costumes all set, and we hope to see you all there!
St. Therese Catholic Academy will be hosting a Little Ones’ Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 26th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Everyone is welcome! The event will feature fun games, food for purchase and two bounce houses. Tickets are $1 each or $8 for 10, $10 for 15, $20 for 30 tickets and will be available for purchase at the door. It’s a great opportunity for the kids to be able to wear their costumes! St. Therese Catholic Academy is located in the Madrona neighborhood at 900 35th Ave. Seattle, WA 98122. For more information please call the school at 206-324-0460.
Pumpkin spice lattes, jack-o-lanterns on the porch, and Seattle skies lit with a spotlight beckoning patrons to the Kube 93 haunted house can only mean one thing – Halloween is nearly here! The Madrona Community Council, BOOM (Business Owners of Madrona) and Madrona K-8 have come together to organize several Halloween activities between 4:30-7:30pm on October 31st. All of the youngsters in the area are invited to come join the festivities, which begin at the Madrona Shelterhouse at 4:30pm for treats.
Visit the neighborhood businesses dressed in your best costumes to collect trick or treat sweets, then take part in a special Madrona scavenger hunt. Business will be included in the scavenger hunt list, which will be available to pick up at the Shelterhouse. This year each participating business will provide kids with a letter along with their treat that when put together with the other letters spells a secret word. Kids will collect the letters to solve a word puzzle, and will be rewarded with a special treat at the Shelterhouse at the end. After the scavenger hunt, everyone is welcome to stop by the Madrona K-8 main entrance on 33rd for festivities and of course – more treats! See you there!
UPDATE: Most of the activities will be from 4:30 to 6:30 and we do not believe Madrona K-8 is participating this year.
I will make this quick since I feel like Madrona Halloween activities have been well covered on our blog. There has been confusion on the start time of Halloween. The Madrona Shelterhouse was to open at 4:30, but the Madrona Halloween Poster says 4-7 so the Shelterhouse will try to be open at 4 PM today. Madrona K-8 is scheduled to open at 5 PM. Madrona K-8 is the end of the scavenger hunt.
Reminder: Madrona will be celebrating Halloween on Halloween night this year starting at 4:30 at the Madrona Shelterhouse next to the tennis courts at the Madrona Playground. Business Owners of Madrona have planned a traditional scavenger hunt along 34th Avenue with the participating businesses and the party will end at Madrona K8 School with fun lasting until 7pm.
