Do you want to run a pizza restaurant in Madrona? As many of you know, Pritty Boys Pizza closed, but the business is available for purchase. We should have known this was coming: the owner’s Madrona home recently went on the market and the rumor is they moved across the lake.
We hope someone buys the restaurant….we already miss the fun family atmosphere, the pizza, and our personal favorite: the broccoli. First the Madrona Ale House gets rid of their toys, now this! Madrona families with young children are panicking.
We wish the Pritty Boy’s owners well. They quietly supported Madrona activities such as Mayfair, Madrona Dine Out for Madrona K-8, and recently paid for a large portion of the holiday decorations for the Madrona business district.

There are other Seattle restaurants in the field, but two Madrona restaurants are vying for the title of Seattle’s Most Family Friendly Restaurant. We are not taking sides on this battle royale, but are crossing our fingers that either Madrona Eatery & Ale House or Pritty Boys Pizzeria win it. We would welcome the Best of Citysearch title to the Madrona neighborhood. Good luck to both Madrona Ale House and Pritty Boys Pizza.
It was just this month that Pagliacci’s started delivering pizza to Madrona and Leschi, but now Pritty Boys Family Pizzeria also delivers to local residences. It was announced on Madrona Moms and signs along Madison Street that Pritty Boys will now deliver. Just call them at 206-257-1319 to order food to your home. Turkey, mashed potatoes and now this…I better start running to get burn all these calories off.

The owner of Leschi’s All Purpose Pizza announced that the restaurant is closing at the end of the day, Monday, October 15th. The kid-friendly restaurant has been serving the area for over seven years and has support the Leschi community during that time. Here is the email that was sent out announcing the closure of All Purpose Pizza:
Subject: All Purpose Pizza
Dear Friends/Family of APP,
Shocking as it will seem, I have decided to close APP after service (9pm) Monday October 15th. After 7 years of business I have decided it is time to move on and unburden myself and the debt that has been amassing since 2008 and the economic crash. I have done everything I can over these past years to stay in business, waiting for brighter days, but the new economic reality doesn’t mesh with my overhead/bottom line which is, unfortunately, not negotiable. The deficit has been incredibly daunting and it is time for me to admit defeat. I know it will leave a huge hole in the community, a place I have called home for so many years. It is extremely painful for me to make this decision and what makes it harder all of you: the people who started off as patrons, became friends, and are now family. Your love and support has meant the world to me over these years and it is because of that that I have made it this far. For that I can’t thank you enough.
I will be around tonight (Friday) and throughout the weekend (looking for sitter now). I hope that you can make it in so I can say goodbye and sling one last pizza hurrah!
Please support All Purpose Pizza in their last few days of business.
If you haven’t tried Pritty Boys, now is the time! These Madrona Pizza boys aren’t just serving up pizza; their full menu includes appetizers such as garlic truffle fries, lightly fried calamari, and meatballs in marinara! They also of course have a variety of delicious pizza pies, which you can order regular or gluten-free, and they offer salads, paninis, and pasta! Yum!
Madrona does love wine (Bottlehouse, Madrona Wine Merchants, etc.) but Madrona beer lovers need a place to go too….well, beyond Madrona Ale House….it is only fair! Pritty Boy Pizza has just added beer to go starting June 1st. So stop by 1430 34th Avenue and get your Pritty Boys Family Pizzeria Growler. Fill it up with one of their 7 draft beers: Manny’s Pale, Chuckanut Kolsch, Chuckanut Dunkle, Pike Double IPA, Three Skulls BlackBeard Dark Lager, Fish Brewery Mudshark Porter, and New Belgium/Elysian Pink Peppercorn IPA.
I never have recovered from when Kentucky Fried Chicken moved out of their location from the Madison entrance of the Arboretum. I was only a kid when they moved, but I still refer to it as the old Kentucky Fried Chicken location. The tenant currently is Spotless Cleaners, but after so many years, a wrong is being righted with the news that Pagliacci Pizza is coming to the space.
Pagliacci Pizza needs little introduction to Seattleites. Started in 1979 in the University District which is about the same time Kentucky Fried Chicken left the location on Madison where Pagliacci is taking over.
Of course Madrona already has several pizza options with Pritty Boy Pizza and Madrona Ale House serving pizza on the weekends, but Pagliacci is a Seattle favorite and will deliver to not only Madrona, but also many other Seattle neighborhoods including Madison Park, Leschi and Capitol Hill from its new location.
Madrona Ale House is a neighborhood favorite especially for Madrona families. It is hard to find a seat on a weekend night if you stop by for dinner. The Madrona Ale House menu has everything from pizza to pork chops, from burgers to tacos, and of course beer from Seattle to Timbuktu. The menu is diverse and while they keep the same favorites such as the Alehouse Fish & Chips and Burger, Shepards Pie, and Margherita Pizza, the menu also changes from time to time. I recently went in and their familiar lamenated green menus had changed to white or light yellow depending on who you ask. And with the change of the color came new items on the menu. Gone from the Madrona Ale House menu are Lamar’s Red Chili, Taco Salad, Chili Cheese Fries, and Sockeye Salmon. Replacing them are the Blackened Salmon Burger, BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza, Chef’s Salad, Crispy Cod Tacos, Grilled Pork Chop, Ravioli, and the Pan Roasted Chicken. So the next time you go into Madrona Eatery & Ale House the menu might look a little different, but don’t fear the old favorites are still there and you will also have a chance to try something new.
Quick update: Pritty Boys Family Pizzeria’s website is up! (Click the link). Their URL had been on the front door since the beginning, but every time I went to go check for it – there was no website. Have no fear, it is now hear. The website is good and has the main things I need: the phone number and hours in the upper right corner and the menu to review online. Online orders will be available in the future.
