According to Madrona residents, Chuck’s Hop Shop is already seeing success after their soft opening last weekend at their new location on 20th & Union. Residents have boasted that the bar currently has 20 beers on tap and many in a huge cold case that lines the back wall. They plan on having 49 beers on tap when they’re open to full capacity, and if you’re gluten intolerant (or just don’t care for beer) they also have a smaller cooler filled with hard cider, many of them local. Chuck’s has a family friendly atmosphere, welcoming children and dogs at their tables.
They are also planning to serve a selection of food items such as bratwursts. Chuck’s other location in Greewood has been successfully running since 2010. It is reassuring that the Hop Shop has patrons filling the tables even before their official opening, so hopefully beer lovers in the neighborhood will make this a successful new spot for a cold brew. If you have stopped in for a cold one, we would love to hear your feedback!
If you didn’t have the chance to check out the new Central Pizza that opened yesterday at the old All Purpose Pizza location on 29th & Jackson, we suggest you check it out this week for some delicious thin crust pies! Toppings like homemade meatballs, prosciutto, pesto, gorgonzola, and cherry peppers will have your mouth watering before you walk through the doors, and did we mention the array of tasty sandwiches and pastas made in house? YUM! They do have a gluten free dough option available, and will be available for delivery in the near future.
If you were able to stop in yesterday, you may have noticed that they did some nice renovations since All Purpose closed, moving the kitchen back to make room for more restaurant space, and they added a bar. The coolest renovation would probably have to be the booths and table tops made from reclaimed Lakeside High’s basketball court. Stop in for pizza and beers Monday-Thursday 3-11pm, and Fridays from 3-12am. Saturday will be open 12-12, and Sunday hours will be from 12pm-11pm. Let us know what you think if you’ve had the chance to sample the pies!
