You can run Pritty Boys Pizza in Madrona!

pizzaDo you want to run a pizza restaurant in Madrona?  As many of you know, Pritty Boys Pizza closed, but the business is available for purchase.  We should have known this was coming: the owner’s Madrona home recently went on the market and the rumor is they moved across the lake.

We hope someone buys the restaurant….we already miss the fun family atmosphere, the pizza, and our personal favorite: the broccoli.  First the Madrona Ale House gets rid of their toys, now this!  Madrona families with young children are panicking.

We wish the Pritty Boy’s owners well.  They quietly supported Madrona activities such as Mayfair, Madrona Dine Out for Madrona K-8, and recently paid for a large portion of the holiday decorations for the Madrona business district.

There are MANY more auction items available, so make sure to stop by the auction site at the Madrona playground between 10:00 and 11:30 on the day of Mayfair to check everything out. All funds raised will go toward supporting arts and music enrichment programming, providing classroom technology and supplies and covering field trip expenses at Madrona K-8.

Dine Out To Benefit Madrona K-8 On April 8

Madrona School

Almost anywhere you eat on 34th Avenue on April 8 will benefit Madrona K-8 School as part of its 6th annual Dine Out fundraiser. Participating restaurants will be donating a portion of the day’s sales to the school, which will be using the proceeds directly to support arts and enrichment programming, including funding two full-time artists in residence from Art Corps, the largest nonprofit arts education program in Seattle.

All you need to do to participate is let the restaurant know you’re there for Dine Out, and enjoy your meal! Participating 34th Avenue restaurants are: Bistro Turkuaz, Bottlehouse, Cupcake Royale/Verite, Hi Spot, Madrona Eatery and Alehouse, Naam, Pritty Boys Family Pizzeria, and St. Cloud’s. Barrio, on 12th Avenue on Capitol Hill will also be participating. Reservations are recommended if you choose a restaurant that takes them.

Dine Out Madrona is sponsored by the Madrona K-8 PTSA.

Uh-oh, Madrona Restaurants Fighting for Most Family-Friendly Title

There are other Seattle restaurants in the field, but two Madrona restaurants are vying for the title of Seattle’s Most Family Friendly Restaurant.  We are not taking sides on this battle royale, but are crossing our fingers that either Madrona Eatery & Ale House or Pritty Boys Pizzeria win it.  We would welcome the Best of Citysearch title to the Madrona neighborhood.  Good luck to both Madrona Ale House and Pritty Boys Pizza.

Pagliacci Pizza Delivering to Madrona & Leschi

Zaw PizzaWe wrote about Pagliacci Pizza opening on Madison months ago and while were are a little late announcing their grand opening which happened on November 1st, it is never too late to remind you that Pagliacci Pizza is now deliverying to the Madrona & Leschi neighborhoods.  If you want Pagliacci’s delivered to your Madrona / Leschi home call 206-726-1717.

And of course do not forget Pritty Boys Pizza on 34th and Pike in Madrona’s business district.  They have a great family atmosphere and pizza available for take-out: 206-257-1319.

Pritty Boys Pizza Now has Beer To Go

Madrona BeerMadrona does love wine (Bottlehouse, Madrona Wine Merchants, etc.) but Madrona beer lovers need a place to go too….well, beyond Madrona Ale House….it is only fair!  Pritty Boy Pizza has just added beer to go starting June 1st.  So stop by 1430 34th Avenue and get your Pritty Boys Family Pizzeria Growler.  Fill it up with one of their 7 draft beers: Manny’s Pale, Chuckanut Kolsch, Chuckanut Dunkle, Pike Double IPA, Three Skulls BlackBeard Dark Lager, Fish Brewery Mudshark Porter, and New Belgium/Elysian Pink Peppercorn IPA.

Pagliacci Pizza Coming to the Madrona Area

Zaw PizzaI never have recovered from when Kentucky Fried Chicken moved out of their location from the Madison entrance of the Arboretum.  I was only a kid when they moved, but I still refer to it as the old Kentucky Fried Chicken location.  The tenant currently is Spotless Cleaners, but after so many years, a wrong is being righted with the news that Pagliacci Pizza is coming to the space.

Pagliacci Pizza needs little introduction to Seattleites.  Started in 1979 in the University District which is about the same time Kentucky Fried Chicken left the location on Madison where Pagliacci is taking over.

Of course Madrona already has several pizza options with Pritty Boy Pizza and Madrona Ale House serving pizza on the weekends, but Pagliacci is a Seattle favorite and will deliver to not only Madrona, but also many other Seattle neighborhoods including Madison Park, Leschi and Capitol Hill from its new location.

Madrona’s Pritty Boys Pizza Website is Up!

Seattle PizzaQuick update:  Pritty Boys Family Pizzeria’s website is up!  (Click the link).  Their URL had been on the front door since the beginning, but every time I went to go check for it – there was no website.  Have no fear, it is now hear.  The website is good and has the main things I need: the phone number and hours in the upper right corner and the menu to review online.  Online orders will be available in the future.

Pizza Party = Pool

Zaw PizzaI have been writing a lot about Pritty Boys Pizza, which I encourage everyone to go check out.  But if you are looking to eat some pizza this coming Monday and Tuesday, I would point you to All-Purpose Pizza at 2901 S. Jackson to either dine in or for delivery.  I know it is not in Madrona, but it is only a short distance away in Leschi and on Monday and Tuesday All-Purpose Pizza will donate a portion of their sales to open Powell Barnett Wading Pool (also in Leschi) this summer.  I previously blogged about Powell Barnett Wading Pool and the efforts to raise money to open it this summer, but since then a new agreement was reached with the Seattle Parks Department.  Through a great deal of efforts of local volunteers the Seattle Parks Department has agreed to open the wading pool this summer on Saturdays starting July 2nd through August 20th for a much reduced amount than the original $13,200.  Even with the reduced amount $850 is still required and that is where All-Purpose Pizza comes in.  So order pizza this Monday and Tuesday from All-Purpose this Monday and Tuesday and help raise the last bit of funds needed so we can all have summer fun at the Powell Barnett Wading Pool.

Note: Seattle Parks wading pools are only open when weather permits, so be sure to check the weather before heading Powell Barnett Wading Pool even if it is scheduled to be open.
