After Obama’s risky move to endorse same-sex marriage yesterday, a stance bursting with political risk, he’s headed for Seattle to continue on with his series of re-election campaigns. Normally a visit to Seattle wouldn’t gain much National hype, but after his last announcement, we can expect the Presidential visit to give our city the spot light. Obama’s endorsement marks a milestone for the gay rights movement, as this was the first acceptance from a sitting President, and will be a significant wager in the ever sought electoral approval.
Air Force One is scheduled to arrive just before noon today in Seattle and the President’s first pit stop will be a $35,800-per-couple brunch at the Madrona home of Ann and Bruce Blume. Later on in the afternoon he will visit the Paramount Theater for another fundraiser, where guests can attended for $1,000 a ticket, or $5,000 bucks to include a photo reception with the President and performance by local lyrical legend Dave Matthews.
